What you will do
- Create runnable backend services with realistic bugs: data, concurrency, pagination, caching, auth.
- Write issues, failing tests and regression tests, then a verified fix.
- Implement small features against acceptance tests and record your process.
- Review other engineers' tasks for realism, reproducibility and test quality.
What you will need
- 3+ years building production backends in TypeScript, Python, Go or Java.
- Comfortable with databases, APIs and testing.
- Clear written English.
Nice to have
- Production incident experience.
- Experience with more than one backend language.
How you are assessed
debugging skill, test quality, solution correctness, clear explanation.
